Bossman by Vi Keeland
One of the best book boyfriends of all time! I just finished this and can’t get Chase out of my mind. He’s all sorts of dirty, but kind and sweet, too. And I loved the heroine, Reese, just as much.
Prime Minister by Ainsley Booth and Sadie Haller
Based on the current news cycle, you might be sick of anything to do with politics , but I promise you this novel will change your mind. Or make you want to move to Canada. Fair warning, this story is a BDSM romance, but it’s also sweet and Gavin is downright swoon worthy. If you’ve never read a BDSM novel, or even considered it, this is a great place to start. It has all the feels and hot, hot sex.
Man Candy by Melanie Harlow
I confess when I first started to read this book, I didn’t think I was going to like it. It started out a little too slapstick for me. Boy, did I change my mind. The hero is a former male model and in some ways he acts like one (he takes care of his body obsessively and tweets out every move he makes). The heroine is the younger sister of the hero’s best friend. She’s harbored a crush forever. Little does she know he has, too! I always love a good high school crush becomes true love story. Grab this one—it’s pure fun from cover to cover.
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata
I’d never heard of this author before so I don’t know what got me to try this one. Oh, yes I do…I love sports stories! Aiden is a football star and Vanessa is his assistant. He is the king of cranky men and Vanessa gives as good as she gets. When he discovers he needs her, she’s got him in the palm of her hand. Except she doesn’t want him there. The back and forth between these two is pure fun and when a man as tough as Aiden falls hard, that’s about as sweet and satisfying as it gets!
Deeper by Robin York
This is a YA novel. I won’t lie, it’s gut wrenching. The heroine is a college student whose reputation is destroyed when her ex-boyfriend posts their sex pictures online. West is her reluctant hero. After he stands up for her, she can’t stay away from him. He’s got his own massive problems and doesn’t want the burden of her on his hands. Their coming together is supremely satisfying, but a warning—this ends on a cliffhanger. The sequel, Harder, will rip your heart out and stomp it on the ground, before rebuilding it to be twice its original size.
Alex by Sawyer Bennett
She had me at hockey. The main character, Alex, is a bit of a bad boy. I do love that. And the heroine, Sutton, is a good girl. But she’s also strong and smart. She sees right through is bullsh*t. While the premise starts off as something familiar—team bad boy forced to do community service to clean up his image—it quickly pulls you in and leads you on a journey you will enjoy from start to finish. One that is deep, moving, and also fun. Not only will you fall in love with Sutton and Alex, but you will be drawn in to the Caroline Cold Fury world, which will have you coming back for the stories of the other players as well!
Note: Sawyer Bennett also writes non-hockey stories, so if sports aren’t your thing, try something else of hers. Trust me, you won’t be sorry.
Like most writers, I’m an avid reader. I’ve never counted, but I probably read somewhere around one hundred twenty-five books a year. And while I love pre-ordering books from my favorite authors (Christina Lauren, Lisa Kleypas, Colleen Hoover and Julie James, to name a few), I absolutely love searching for and discovering new authors (new to me, not necessarily to everyone else). When I find a new author I love, there is nothing more fun than sharing them with someone else! Below are some of the newer authors that I’ve added to my Kindle library. Themes you’ll see over and over—athletes (especially hockey), guys who talk dirty, and emotionally charged stories that rip your heart out. What can I say…I like to earn my happy endings!
